Jason attended a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Lake County Port and Economic Development Authority to congratulate former Willoughby Mayor David Anderson on his appointment as their new Executive Director.

Jason joined Minister Brian Jones of CROSS Outreach Ministry and DBSA NEO to pass out free lunches to kids in Painesville. Thanks to his leadership, partnerships with Paula Price and 100 Youth That Care, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, and the generosity of local business owner Rich Harless, many families go the help they needed.

Was a great day to enjoy the Lake Metroparks. We hiked our way through Penitentiary Glen Reservation. We skipped some stones, saw some animals, and got a little wet. My little guy had a couple falls but pushed through them to have a great time and make it all the way to the end.

The unusual school year ended with a car parade through the parking lot of Kirtland Elementary School for these amazing teachers to say goodbye to the kids and for the families to say thanks to them for all of their outstanding work.

Jason was joined by his daughter, volunteer Michelle Iafelice, and Chief Dan Waterman of the Painesville Police Department to again distribute free lunches to kids in Painsville. Jason's daughter worked hard packaging hamburgers and hot dogs with Michelle Iafelice, passing them out, and made sure everyone got a dessert. The Chief brought along a couple of his officers and demonstrated once again what great community partners they are. Jason organized panel discussions for local businesses with Congressman Dave Joyce, State Representative Jamie Callender, and County Commissioner Jerry Cirino to help Lake County companies communicate their needs to their elected representatives and to gain a better understanding of the programs available to them. The panels were presented through the Mentor Area Chamber of Commerce, the Eastern Lake County Chamber of Commerce, and the Willoughby Western Chamber of Commerce. They were then asked to provide another session for the nonprofit center at Lakeland Community College and were joined by State Senator John Eklund.

Was a perfect night for a family campout. We all had fun but no one had a better time than our dog, and she exhausted herself. The ice cream cone smores were a first for us and a great way to end the night.

Jason is joined by Kim Fraser, Executive Director of the Lake County ADAMHS (Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services) Board, for a Facebook Live to spread the word about the mental health resources available to Lake County residents during the COVID-19 crisis. They discussed a number of innovative options available, including virtual support groups, a "warmline" for those who need someone to talk to, and texting options for help.

Jason joins with Commissioner John Hamercheck to help prep and distribute infrared thermometers for use by the county's Emergency Management Agency, the Lake County General Health District, the Sheriff's Office and area police departments.

With the stay-at-home order now in effect, Jason warned the community about how criminals that target children are even more active, and attempting to take advantage of a time when kids are increasingly using electronic devices. He revealed that his own daughter was recently targeted when someone attempted to lure her into sending inappropriate photos.

Jason invites the community to assist in the creation of an online listing of Lake County restaurants offering takeout food after the Governor ordered restaurants closed for regular dining. The listing eventually includes dozens of restaurants , their websites, and phone numbers to make ordering and supporting our local places easy.

In the early days of Ohio's response to the Coronavirus, Jason hosts a Facebook Live event with Dr. Stephen Baum of Lake Health to answer questions about COVID-19 and provide real answers people can use to understand the illness and reduce their risks of infection.

Jason attended the "Rescue Rock Off" to benefit the Lake Humane Society at the Willoughby Brewing Company. Bands played all day to raise money for pets with nowhere else to go.

2019 was a year full of accomplishments for the City of Mentor, and Jason was glad to join the Mentor Chamber of Commerce for City Manager Ken Filipiak's State of the City report. From new restaurants like Mission BBQ and Slyman's Tavern, to new industrial facilities like the one built by De Nora Tech, Inc., Mentor has much to be proud of and to build on in the year to come.

Allison and Jason celebrate Valentine's Day on the Saturday after Valentine's Day by enjoying a couple of the incredible wineries in the Grand River Vallery. Cask 307 and Grand River Cellars are two "can't miss" spots in Madison.

Jason had a great visit at Fredon Corporation where he talked about the future of Lake County manufacturing with Roger Sustar, had a a terrific tour of the facility, and heard about Fredon's need for more workers. Jason has been helping to spread the word about job's available in Lake County , helped publicize this opening, and directed multiple applicants to Fredon.
